Protect yourself against seasonal flu this winter.
Flu is an infectious illness, which can spread rapidly; symptoms usually include fever, chills, headaches, aching muscles, cough and sore throat.
Anyone can get flu but it can be more serious for people aged 65 and over and for those with certain medical conditions. .
Please remember the flu jab is not a live vaccine and CANNOT give you flu. If you had the jab last year, you need to have it again this year.
Who is it for?
If you are aged 65 years and over before 31st March 2013 or in one of the listed at risk groups it is recommended that you have a flu jab. You could be at risk if you suffer from any of the following conditions:
- Chronic Heart Disease
- Stroke/TIA
- COPD
- Asthma
- Diabetes Mellitus
- ChronicRenal Disease
- Chronic Liver Disease
- Weakened Immune system
- Live in a long stay residential or nursing home
- Pregnant

Are those who are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.
